This year’s Autumn School “Water Week” took place at the Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim from 1st to 5th October 2018.
The school offered lectures and exercises in the field of water transportation and pump systems, plant calculations, management and maintenance of storm and wastewater systems. The lecture by Andrea Cominoli emphasising the aspect of digitalisation in connections with those topics deserves particular mention. Digitalisation will play a key role in the advancement of water systems and is therefore a highly relevant subject with a promising future for young scientists of this branch. On Thursday there was a field visit to the “Risvollan research site” for urban drainage.
Apart form the academic input participating students from NTNU and TU Berlin had occasions to get to know each other, explore the city of Trondheim, visit the Rockheim national museum of popular music and go hiking. Local students showed the foreigners around providing a chance for cultural exchange in addition to the scientific one preparing the ground for fruitful cooperations in the future.
