The second edition of the “Water in Urban Areas” Spring School started March 27th 2017 at TU Berlin. The demand was strong so that a new record regarding the number of participants in NWN schools was set. 64 students from Berlin, Cracow and Trondheim spend five days together. The program consisted of lectures, exercises and multiple excursions.
On the agenda were wastewater treatment, maintenance of urban water systems, water supply and wastewater disposal, local rainwater management and the effects of the climate change on these systems. The lectures were hold by professors from all four partner universities of the network.
The academic program was completed by an excursion to the Umweltbundesamt and a joint visit of the fair “Wasser Berlin International 2017”.
88,2 % of the participants stated that the spring school increased their interest in the subject. The students enjoyed as well the internationality of the course and TU Berlin is looking forward in welcoming students from our partner universities next time.
